Identifying and Celebrating our Gifted and Talented Young People
The ambition of the Gifted and Talented strand;
● Raising the quality of PE for Gifted and Talented young people - supporting schools to recognise young people who are gifted in PE and to ensure differentiation for them within the PE Curriculum
● Ensuring appropriate personal development support for young talented performers - guiding schools to provide and embed personal development support for young talented performers in sport / Dance within their school
● Raising the quality of coaching and competition for talented performers in sport - supporting the expansion of the talent pool by providing high quality coaching and competition pathways that allow talented performers to progress
Gifted and Talented in the Rawmarsh SSP
At primary school level we have developed the Gifted and Talented strand through the introduction of Multi Skill Academies. Key Stage 1 pupils attended Multi Skill Clubs in their cluster and a selection were then selected for the Key Stage 1 Multi Skill Academy, run in conjunction with Wickersley SSP. We are currently in the process of organising the Key Stage 2 Multi Skill Academy and Multi Skill clubs are currently underway in each cluster.
In secondary schools pupils are tracked through their secondary PE Department.
