Swinton Brookfield and Greasbrough Take Football By Storm!
24th November 2009
Year 5 and 6 Boys and Girls Football Partnership Finals
It was another exciting affair at the Year 5 and 6 Partnership Football Finals held again at Wath Comprehensive School. The conditions were not ideal but thankfully the rain didn't arrive which led to a very exciting tournament.
The boys played their tournament on the grass with the wet and muddy surface not being an issue for the teams competing. All teams played each other in a round robin competition meaning every team played each other once. There were great individual and team performances with all games played in the right manner, ensuring all players had an enjoyable experience.
After all the games Swinton Brookfield were the eventual winners with Greasbrough and Brinsworth a close second and third respectively.

The girls tournament was equally exciting with the same format as the boys. Every team played each other in a round robin competition. Each game was very competitive and played in the right manner with odd goals being the difference between the majority of the games. Congratulations to overall winners Greasbrough who went through the whole tournament without losing a game. Runner up position was very close with St Helens and Sitwell sharing the same points. St Helens narrowly won due to a better goal difference. Well done to all of the girls involved!
