The South Yorkshire School Games went off with a bang at the English Institute of Sport on Tues 12th March 2013. There were 14 different events going on throughout the day with schools representing all 4 areas of South Yorkshire.
Rotherham was strongly represented in all sports and the teams from Rawmarsh SSP did us proud. Brampton Ellis competed well in the Primary Sportshall Athletics and Winterhill girls were up there with the best in the Y7 Girls Sportshall Finals. Thornhill were just pipped to top spot in the Y3/4 Hotshots Basketball and Meadow View, Kilnhurst & Sandhill pupils were impressive in the Judo taster festival. The Key Steps Gymnastics was dominated by Rotherham teams and Rawmarsh Sandhill took top spot in the Y3/4 competition, with St Marys Maltby finishing as runners up in their Y5/6 category.
